Alerts You of Network Performance Issues
You can have the most secure wireless network possible,
but if it fails to meet the performance demands of network
users, it’s not of much use. Furthermore, certain
performance issues can escalate and actually cause security
risks for the enterprise. For these reasons, AirMagnet
has developed over 40 alerts to identify an entire range
of performance issues including traffic patterns, bandwidth
utilization and infrastructure or hardware failures
or resets. Like all AirMagnet alerts, each comes with
a detailed description of the problem, symptoms and
causes, access to additional diagnostic data, advice

Complete Wi-Fi Interference Analysis
Wireless interference is one of the most common and persistent
causes of poor performance in a wireless LAN. Interferences
can stem from a variety of sources including competition from
other Wi-Fi devices, “hidden nodes” in the network
and even non-802.11 wireless devices. AirMagnet’s Interference
page tracks all these types of interference and displays them
by channel. Users can quickly see the impact of competing Wi-Fi
devices, identify any hidden nodes affecting the channel, and
track noise in the RF environment. AirMagnet Laptop PRO users
can also integrate with the AirMagnet Spectrum Analyzer to identify
non-802.11sources of interference for even deeper Layer 1 analysis.

AirMagnet Laptop Analyzer provides a suite of more than 13
troubleshooting tools to actively diagnose and quickly solve
many types of wireless network performance problems.

Wireless Device Find Tool
The Find Tool locks onto a particular AP or station and guides
you to the physical location of non-complaint device or Rogue
APs. The Find Tool can also be used to align signals between
antennas to quickly optimize reception in line-of-sight bridging.
• Multipath Detection
With the Signal Tool you can identify very rapid fluctuations
in signal quality from any given access point to detect the
presence of multipath interference at a particular location
or even identify a malfunctioning access point.
• Connection Troubleshooting
Directly troubleshoot connectivity between any client and
AP in the network by viewing the step-by-step progress of
a connection to pinpoint where the process is breaking down.
Also use traditional tools such as Ping, Traceroute, Whois,
DHCP, and DNS Lookup.
